Yay! My favorite Miami cupcake company, Cupcakes Nouveau, is finally opening it’s doors! I’ve posted the flyer for the Grand Opening. It’s Friday, January 30th, 2009 at 7pm. I definitely suggest you make it out- they are giving out FREE CUPCAKES! Yum!
So it was another stressful, super busy weekend- worked a lot, but two of my prego friends and I did get to slip away for a few hours for a lovely brunch and a visit the Elemis Day Spa for a little TLC. I got an 80 minute deep tissue massage, and a manicure and pedicure. The massage was just not long enough. I think I need like a 3-day marathon massage. It definitely helped, but I still have a lot of pain in my back and neck. Apparently, I absorb all of my stress in this one damn muscle on my back. Aaaaaah! It is the bane of my existence. I told the masseuse that I thought she would have to punch me repeatedly to get the knot out and she responded by telling me she thought she needed a hammer. Ouch! I guess it’s worse than I thought.
Anyhow, a good time was had by all and we are definitely going to make an effort to have these little retreats a bit more often. Just sitting in the little lounge where you wait for them to call you for your next treatment was relaxing. The room was dim with soothing music, snacks, refreshments, and of course the super cozy, plush robes and chairs. Damn, I wish I was in that room right now instead of at my desk on a Monday. Ugh!
I would highly recommend a spa visit to anyone and the Elemis Day Spa was a great experience for us. We’ll be back, hopefully sooner than later.
So my highschool reunion is coming up in December and I’ve already started the hunt for the perfect dress. I loved highschool and I haven’t seen anyone since then so I want to look super chic, and thin of course. Here is the first round of dresses up for debate. These are from Nordstrom.com. So it seems everyone I know is knocked up. My sister, my friend, her sister, her two cousins, my other friend…I think there’s something in the water. I’ve clearly been drinking soda, but I digress. Anyhow, this baby fever has got me on the look out for the cutest and trendiest baby fashions. Unfortunately, we have yet to discover the gender of any of these babies (well, they actually look like shrimp at this point) but that hasn’t stopped me from looking. Here are some of my favs:
