Protect your Hair from the effects of the Sun, Sea, and Pool September 5, 2007

The long hot season in Miami can be brutal on your hair color and texture.  I have found two really great products for protecting your hair from UV, salt and chlorine water damage.

 Kerastase Soleil Voile Protecteur leaves a natural, non-oily finish that prevents hair from drying out as well as provides UV protection.   Just spray product onto dry or damp hair and go frolic and play.

 Rene Furterer Solar Protective Summer Fluid  is a waterproof product that provides light hydration and UV protection as well.  You only need to spray one application all over your hair and you’re set.

These are two great French hair care product lines.  Both products do a great job.

If you have nipples, they have betrayed you at some point.  Maybe they volunteered to be thermometers without your consent, or decided to make an appearance beneath a sheer top.  Well, fret no more.  Now there are an assortment of products designed just for these problems.  Here are two of my favorite.

The nipple cover to the left is a Gel Silicone Nipple Cover made of soft 100% pure silicone.  These are reusable and can be worn up to 100 times.  It is available in the petal shape seen here or a round shape.  You have a choice of a sheer nude or brown color to blend in with your skin tone.  They come one per package with its own storage case.

 The nipple cover to the right is a Cloth Silicone Breast Petal made of 100% polyester on the outside and 100% silicone on the inside.  These are reusable as well, but can only be worn up to 25 times with proper care.  They are waterproof and are available in a nude or brown color.  One pair is included per package. 

 I have yet to try these products myself, but my nipples and I are very excited to test them out.  We’ll let you know how it goes.

Burt’s Bees Products

 

I am a huge fan of the Burt’s Bees product line.  They are relatively inexpensive, natural, and effective products.  Two of my favorite products are the Burt’s Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil and the Burt’s Bees Shea Butter Hand Repair Creme. 

I tend to have dry lips and I want to keep them soft so I am constantly applying this lip balm as a daily lip moisturizer.  It keeps my lips soft and it smells yummy too.

I also have a bit of an OCD about washing my hands.  They get really dry throughout the day from all the hand washing, so I’ve been using this hand cream to help replenish moisture.  This hand cream is also recommended to reduce wrinkles and soothe chapped skin.  Hands tend to give away your age because although most people try to take care of the skin on their face, they often neglect their hands.  Then you end up with smooth, soft skin and old lady hands.  Burt’s Bees also recommends this product for use on rough parts like elbows and knees to keep them soft.

Two thumbs up for Burt’s Bees!  I will check out some new products and keep you posted.
