I was just cruisin’ the Urban Outfitters site again and of course, another wishlist has emerged.  Here are some fun gifts, stocking stuffers, and cute items.

Doesn’t Snoopy play the Jaw Harp?  I looove Snoopy!

How about the sweet hamburger phone Juno brought back?

Speaking of bringing it back, I totally had skates just like these growing up.  Who needs Roller Blades anyway?!

I’ve been looking for a wide, brown, leather belt I can wear a bit higher on my waist.

Just some cute outerwear I’m digging.  Although I live in Miami, I’m always cold for some reason.

It includes 84 eye shadows (powder and cream); 60 lip colors, 6 blushes and face powders, 1 eye liner, 1 lip liner, and 7 applicators and brushes.

Favorite Foundations December 11, 2008

I have two favorite foundations; one for daily use and one for special events or when I know I’m going to be filmed or photographed.  I’ve been using them both for some time now and they have yet to let me down.  So here they are:

For daily use, I love Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Powder Foundation Compact.  I just use a small amount of concealer on trouble spots and dust the foundation on with a big powder brush and ta-dah…set for the day!

For a special occasion, or when I need a heavier and flawless coverage, I use Tigi Bed Head Dream Foundation.  My hair dresser and make-up artist uses it on me and it is perfect!  I use the application sponge that comes with the compact, use a little concealer if needed, then set with the Neutrogena Mineral Foundation.  I love it!

So I’ve been officially lured in by all of the print and tv ads for this product.  I haven’t been sleeping much and I’ve reached utter desperation in search of a product that will combat the poofy morning under eye situation I’ve got going on as of late.  I’m going to begin my testing phase and give you the scoop.  Here’s hoping…

Fabulous Holiday Beauty Sale! December 2, 2008

One of my favorite beauty sites, www.beautyvice.com, is having a great sale on some of their top lines.  They already sell below retail (which is why I love them) but now they are offering and extra 15% off of brands like, Murad, Rene Furterer, and Natura Bisse.  I’ll be doing some holiday shopping for myself there, I’m sure.  Check it out and enjoy the savings.  I’ve got my eye on this little number to start with…

So I started off, innocently enough, just looking for some new tweezers and I ended up wanting all of these other beauty tools.  These are the dangers of me shopping.  I was looking at Tweezerman tweezers because I’ve seen them recommended by eye brow master Sania Vucetaj, and I found all of these other little tools I want to try out.  Here’s the list.

Tweezerman Slant Tweezer

Tweezerman for Him Ingrown Hair Splintertweeze

Tweezerman No-Slip Skin Care Tool

Tweezerman Super Curl Eyelash Curler

Tweezerman Folding Ilashcomb

So it was another stressful, super busy weekend- worked a lot, but two of my prego friends and I did get to slip away for a few hours for a lovely brunch and a visit the Elemis Day Spa for a little TLC.  I got an 80 minute deep tissue massage, and a manicure and pedicure.  The massage was just not long enough.  I think I need like a 3-day marathon massage.  It definitely helped, but I still have a lot of pain in my back and neck.  Apparently, I absorb all of my stress in this one damn muscle on my back.  Aaaaaah!  It is the bane of my existence.  I told the masseuse that I thought she would have to punch me repeatedly to get the knot out and she responded by telling me she thought she needed a hammer.  Ouch!  I guess it’s worse than I thought.

Anyhow, a good time was had by all and we are definitely going to make an effort to have these little retreats a bit more often.  Just sitting in the little lounge where you wait for them to call you for your next treatment was relaxing.  The room was dim with soothing music, snacks, refreshments, and of course the super cozy, plush robes and chairs.  Damn, I wish I was in that room right now instead of at my desk on a Monday.  Ugh!

I would highly recommend a spa visit to anyone and the Elemis Day Spa was a great experience for us.  We’ll be back, hopefully sooner than later.
