I just discovered this line of “Micronized Mineral Makeup” called Colorescience.  I tried it out at a local spa yesterday and…not too shabby.  The loose powder comes in a ready-to-use, self-dispensing, retractable brush applicator.  This line includes products for your face, eyes, and lips.

The micronized mineral pigments are natural (without additives), non-comedogenic, and reflect light to give your skin a beautiful glow.  Colorescience camouflages skin imperfections such as uneven skin tone and blemishes.  Colorescience products also provides UVA and UVB protection in a “very water resistant” formula.

The Colorescience website provides quite a bit of information.  They even define all of the ingredients in all of the products so you know exactly what they are a what they do.

I tried the Suncanny Foundation Brush SPF 20 in the “All Even” shade as well as the Bronzer Brush SPF 20 in “Kissed by the Sun” shade.  I used the Bronzer Brush SPF 20 as a blush and to highlight parts of the face that might naturally become sun-kissed.  The products were super easy to apply and felt very light on my skin, like I wasn’t wearing a thing.  The coverage was good enough to hide a few small blemishes that I am unfortunately suffering from at the moment, and did provide a bit of a “glow.”

I also tried the Sunforgettable SPF 30 Brush which is an all-clear, mineral powder that provides broad spectrum protection.  You can choose from three shades, “All Clear”, “Perfectly Clear”, and “Almost Clear.”  You can apply this product anywhere on your face and body and it is also “very water resistant.”  I would recommend it for anyone who is not very keen on the usually greasy sunblock out there.  Great for squirmish children and men.  I would use it as an everyday sunblock, since I live in Miami and it is imperative that I protect my skin on a daily basis.  It is truly very light feeling on your skin.

All of these products are recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation and range from $50.00-$60.00.  I would seriously consider purchasing the Sunforgettable SPF 30 Brush, even though it’s quite a bit more than I would usually spend on sunblock.  As for the makeup, I like it, but not enough to immediately replace what I’m using right now.  Perhaps when it’s time to restock on my foundation and blush I will consider purchasing the makeup.
